Date:
Vernissage: 1
Opening hours:
As an art jury, I have been asked to join the international contest for visual arts “Light as Inspiration” (15 March 2010-15 April 2010), organized by the Sunflowers Art Association. As well I was interviewed by the the Manager and Editor of Sunflowers International Art Organization Mrs. Vanya Nikolaeva Tasheva, Germany Berlin and the interview has been posted in this link
It has been an interesting experince participating in the Chianciano Biennale to wich I have was invited, by The Art Museum of Chianciano, September 2009. As aresult,I was among the selected artists to exhibit my artwork, in 2010 at The Gagliardi Gallery which is one of the oldest contemporary art galleries in London. The following link is TV interview during the Vernissage at the Art Museum of Chianciano with Mr.Roberto Gagliardi, the owner of the art Museum some Artists and I.
Also, I was happy to receive the following comment on my painting “Blue shadows” from Dr. Josephine Scotti who is a professional Art Critic and Poet in Italy:
Dott. Giuseppina Scotti- Critico d'Arte e Poeta."

Translation:
"Gent. Are Dr. Josephine Scotti, art critic, she has been known in Chianciano and these are her brief notes on Mona’s painting.
"Ice-mari .... - ice blue are presented to the public of international collective Art Museum of Chianciano Terme (SI) - Italy, where the same, discover the works of Mona Youssef.
Her research reveals an intense form of expression elegant, yet casual, surrounded by those "cracks" deep, those that illuminate the light blue sky and the artist uses light and shadow, causing games apparently cold environment only, because button interior life.
Her is a thin cover, in equilibrium between mind and spirit, is faithfully as an inspiration that seems to oscillate between sensitivity and a dramatic swirl of meditative dimension. Truly a pleasant and interest that with the art of Youssef.
Dr. Josephine Scotti-Art Critic and Poet."

Other comments received from professionals
1-"As a Canadian Journalist, I have written about many noteworthy subjects, catering to the interests of various communities. I am proud to have had the opportunity to appreciate the work of Canadian Artist, Mona Youssef, whose work transcends thought and imagination from the most simple of concepts. We human's often overlook the most basic beauty that surrounds us every day. Through natural light and shadows, Mona has captured the essence or reality of objects on canvas so they are impossible to ignore. Often our life is composed of what our thoughts make it. Viewing her work has given me a different perspective in which to view life. The blazing color and intricate detail's expresses how life is to be enjoyed. Pride makes us do things well, but it's love that brings them to perfection. Mona has great love to create feelings as optimism and hope, to all who view her work."

2-"The works are living and are literally animated obviously because of an aesthetical and hygienically character (themed: how inside of you how in front of you). Mona Youssef´s is creating in her works a substrate of poetical hygienically singleness and timeless beauty. In her visionary realism her works seem to be a happy exception in our western society and our civilization!
Dear Mona, I will publish this text on your overview, but I will wait some time, it would be to early after the last comment."

"Mona Youssef is a high quality fine artist. I had the opportunity to see her paintings at the Florence Biennale, Italy -where she was exhibiting last December, 2007- and I must say they are awsome! A combination of a high standard techinique plus a refined poetry permeate her oeuvre, which a true gift of light and delicacy. Mrs. Youssef is also a caring person, devoted not only to her work but also to the benefits of others."

It has been a thrilling experience for me, being invited to participate in the Florence Biennale for Contemporary International Art Exhibition 2007. There, I had met many artists but could not speak to all of them for the total number was 834 artists from all over the world presenting their countries with rich verity of mediums and styles. Artists were asking one another to sign for each other the catalog where each artist has a full page. Although, the catalog was heavy to carry but was a loaded souvenir to come back home with. The following link is the letter of invitation I had received from the Biennale's Scientific Committee:

International Art Exhibition "Landscapes" Italy, Ferrara
It was a pleasant message I had received from the Artistic Committee in Italy inviting me to participate in International Art Exhibition. The invitation stated as follow:
"Dear Mona Youssef",
I'm glad to inform you that the Artistic Committee of "Landscapes" exhibition that will take place on October 2005 at the beautiful Estense Castle of Ferrara, having seen and appreciated your artworks published on the web, has decided to select your name to participate at this significative event organized by ArteXArte Foundation and by Paola Trevisan Contemporary Art. We've been particularly fascinated by your delicate and refined autumn paintings like "Greater Chicken Prairie", "Until next summer" and Looking at Pink Lake".
We also would love you to attend to the Exhibition opening on October, Saturday 29 at 5:30pm."
I have gone and it was a fascinating experience to participate in such International Art Exhibition of "Landscapes". The Art Exhibition was held in the Embarcadero Rooms which have an extensive artistic history.
I am entirely grateful to the Artistic Board for inviting me to be a part of this wonderful opportunity. My special thanks go out to Ms. Paola Trevisian, the curator, who proved to be highly capable of doing the job professionally and with passion.
The Art Exhibition was professionally organized and well advertised. It was an incredible opportunity for me to meet with different artists from different countries. As well, it was interesting to see a vast array of styles and techniques from 65 artists.

Comment on the 23rd Annual Art & Photo Exhibition, Arteast, Orleans.
October 3, 2004
A much I was happy and grateful to receiving two awards on the two of my
paintings "Purple Iris" and "White begonia", as much I thought of not joining
in the following year show. My reason, as was expressed to Mrs. Beaulieu, to giving chances
to my fellow Artists to enjoy receiving such awards. Having said that, I was surprised to hear the comments from some of the Board members and from my fellow Artists, encouraging me to keep on participating in next
years shows for they have found my paintings were inspiring and that it was great to see my
original paintings. As they went on saying that "When I receive awards, means I earned them"
Thank you Mrs. Suzanne Beaulieu and thank you, my fellow artists for being happy for me. Congratulations to you all who received Awards and my best wishes for all who are working hard, to receiving such recognition in the future
